The PEW Project for Excellence in Journalism has an interesting interactive presentation reviewing the content and attention of news media in 2009. Users can select news sources (e.g. NPR, Cable TV, etc.) and view and compare the topics that these sources focused on in 2009.
Even better, you can embed the charts. Compare, for example, NPR and Talk Radio.
I was the one who worked on this and I used the Google Charting API which made it a breeze to dynamically create these charts and allow anyone to embed them on their own site.
