Hmm. That's quite a lump of secular/reformist blogs there. Perhaps the rumors of Iran being fundamentalist to the core were a bit exaggerated. It's probably the same thing as in the US: http://www.lukecole.com/Electoral%20Maps/Maps10.htm, the dumb are electing the dumb.

Iran is a parliamentary system, using single-member districts. So, while there may be a large secular majority in the country, if it's not evenly distributed throughout the country, the government will be more conservative.
