Pictures of Numbers on Map Projections

Pictures of Numbers has a nice post on map projections and resources. Personally, I like the Robinson projection (and have written about bad choices in map projections before - note however that an application can sometimes force a less than agreeable projection on the implementer). PoN points to a number of good resources, including the National Geographic. My general resource for map data has been DIVA-GIS for a while (actually, I still haven't found a good free general resource better than this one).
