PhotoSynth, EveryScape and Prior Art

TechCrunch has a nice post which compares a new system: EveryScape, to Live Lab's PhotoSynth.

I can imagine there are a number of interesting intersections of technology, and even more intersections in terms of market and audience. However, missing from the post is any discussion of prior art. Have a look at the demo videos produced by Antonio Criminisi of Microsoft Research.

There is another startup called MapJack.com who is similar to Everyscape. It's a good thing that newbies are coming up with this kind of technology that competes with google.
