Google Operating System points to a new feature on Google Video - a ranking of videos via blog mention. Ranking content by blog link counting is something that sites like Blogdex pioneered and something which BlogPulse then Technorati really ran with. However, what we are seeing here, as these ideas become mainstream, is the integration of blog ranking not on portals into the blogosphere, but on sites which provide access to the object data being ranked. As these sites probably have higher traffic than blogosphere sites do, it is a great opportunity to spread the blogosphere meme.
