If you trend URLs like 'http://digg.com/submit' you can get an indication of the distribution of these buttons in the headers and footers of blogposts. This type of thing, of course, takes advantage of something that I often complain about - the lack of real document analysis in blog search engines. Anyway, the better one does at getting their buttons embedded, the more likely one is to get stuff submitted to one's collaborative link pumping site.
Recall that these trends are of percentages of posts, so given time, one might assume that all posts will have some sort of look-at-me button.
