The UK is made up of squares - at least, that is how the OS sees things. The Geograph project aims to record a photograph for each of these grid squares. It has a reasonable graphical interface which displays coverage and allows for navigation. This is similar in some ways to the Degree Confluence project which aggregates pictures for each intersection of degree lat and lon. [Hattip John & Simon Hurst].
