Jeremiah Owyang has an excellent summary of the discussion at the roundtable that Factiva held on Social Media Measurement. Definitely worth a read. One point I'd like to make - there is some mention of who has access to such data (should it be open?), but there is little representation from the community (general users) who would benefit from access. If it were an open resource, then it would be appropriate for general users to help guide the metrics. Pre-Dabble, Mary Hodder wrote quite a bit on this topic.
Measurement is key to any player in the market (BuzzMetrics, Cymfony, BuzzLogic, Umbria, etc.) Factiva is being proactive in openly discussing and ecouraging the evolution of appropriate measurements.
