I really like this new image. It shows the data that I've been using for a while (which will soon be known as the old data :-) As usual the nodes are blogs, the size of the nodes represents the number of inlinks, there are two types of edges the reciprocal and the non-reciprocal edges. I have used alpha blending to weight both the node colours and the edge colours. The results show that the socio-political area, which appears to have far more linking in it is far more dispersed. Compare this with the technology area where we see two bright suns: boingboing (the larger) and engadget.
