Briefly, Yahoo! has announced support for Microformats in Yahoo! local.
Starting today, we’re happy to announce Yahoo! Local fully supports the hCalendar, hCard, and hReview microformats on almost all business listings, search results, events, and reviews. There are a few reasons behind this change, which for now, will be transparent to almost everyone.

This means that when you view a page like this, the reviews are marked up according to the hReview format. This means that suddenly, the world is filled with microformat information.
I've written about Technorati's support for microformat search and the uptake of the microformat movement in the blogosphere. Here's an update of the volume of hReview entries in Technorati's engine:
What are the implications? Now that microformats are hugely a part of the non-blogosphere, a search engine that provides access to microformats needs to be indexing these Yahoo! local pages. Technorati is clearly moving away from being a blog search engine (they were smart in picking a name which doesn't contain the word blog in this regard), which is why they claim to index sites, not blogs. It will be interesting to see if the aggresively go after this Yahoo! microformats data.
