Judas vs. Da VInci

I received my National Geographic subscription in the post yesterday and read the article on the newly translated Gospel of Judas. The graph below shows interest in this text and overlays discussion on the Da Vinci Code (by Dan Brown). The Da Vinci Code trend has a slight upwards tilt, possibly in anticipation of the movie. The first blip on that line is in reference to the law suite against Brown. It is interesting to note that while the Judas related trends show a sudden jump and then a steady decline, the Da Vinci Code trend receives an initial boost from the Judas story, but doesn't drop back down.

If you're looking for a conspiracy, the High Court ruling on the Da Vinci Code case came out on the 7th of April. The Gospel of Judas story seems to have come out on the same day.
