It has been facinating to see how the marketing machine has been wringing every last drop out of Dan Brown's Da Vinvi Code. It certainly is a phenomenon, and the hype around it has certainly had some interesting effects on the spread of critical thinking regarding the texts of the bible. It also seems like the publishers have been playing chicken - seeing just how long they could hold off on releasing the paperback (or, rather, paperbacks if you include all the different form factors, illustrated editions, etc.). And who would have thought the Gospel of Judas would have been discovered just in time for the movie release!
