I'm sure I'm late to this, but the search interface on live.com looks pretty sweet. I see a few key innovations:
- The ability to have more or less snippet material displayed - this is interesting as it allows for scanning more results with a general search versus getting more detail for a specific search.
- Decoupling the results scrolling from the page scrolling - this means that the sponsored links don't scroll above the fold when you get to the bottom of the page. But wait:
- No paged results - they just keep on scrolling.
The more/less feature works well with images as well. Unlike A9, MSN has gone for tabbed result types rather than a single page approach - not sure which is the best, but tabs seem to be the cleanest.
