SonicHealth appears to be the Intelliseek competitor built on top of Yoogli's technology (see my earlier post). Here are the claims:
Consumer-generated media (CGM) - BLOGs, messageboards and beyond – have the power to make or break your brand. There are 50 million Blogs alone – nearly double the amount that existed last year. The people having these conversations are educated, motivated and credible. They are influencers. They trust each other. Until now, CGM was almost impossible to measure, but SonicHealth allows you to drop-in on these conversations and then gives you the automated intelligence to decipher what it all means.
With the 50 million Blogs number, I'm going to guess that they aren't gathering their own blog data. The space is very young, however there have been a number of players here educating customers for a few years, so claims like this are unlikely to impress any major potential clients. The implication that all bloggers are influencers - a little hard to backup. SonicHealth is young (less than a year), so the rest is hubris (though I find that last sentence almost impossible to understand). I don't mean to give these guys a hard time, but sometimes the 'X is the leader in the Y space' marketing line makes me feel jaded.
I'd love to see a little more of what they are up to. Their process is outlined here and it certainly looks different to a standard technology stack used in this space.
