Many of the applications that are being built on top of RSS feeds work in the following way: read an RSS feed, perform some type of analysis (geocoding, polarity analysis), display the results. Wouldn't it be more interesting if the extra information that is computed - the annotations on the RSS feed - were published as a by-product of this type of work. This would separate the problem of inferring the annotation from that of displaying the results in a client or application. It would also allow for the user to pick and choose which annotation stream (for example, which geocoding system) to use for a particular type of data in a particular type of client. All that would be required is the correct use of guids in the RSS feed.
