In 'What I Don't Like About the Holiday Season', Max Kalehoff (Nielsen BuzzMetrics colleague) points to a couple of interesting trends in the blogosphere surrounding Christmas. On in particular is depression around the end of the year:

Gilad Mishne's Mood Graph tool aggregates the mood tags from LiveJournal and shows a similar peak (though a more acute one).
