A quick formulation of queries against BlogPulse ("world cup" AND (team1 OR team2 OR team3 OR team4) suggests that Groups A and C are getting the most attention from the blogosphere.

Group A is the one with South Africa, C the one with the US and UK, not surprising then that if you do an English language query, they will score higher, also given the am out of US twitter users. Would be interesting to repeat this in Spanish (and don't forget to put the country names in the appropriate language). There are a lot of Dutch tweets about the world cup, but you would need something like "WK" and "Nederland" to find those.

Also, the World Cup is *in* South Africa, so the query for the first group is ambiguous and returning any mention of the WC and SA. If you run it again without South Africa the results are much more even.
