Visualizing and Browsing the Democratic Debate

Will Whim points to this New York Times info viz page on the recent Democratic Debate. The visualization has some interesting aspects - I like the basic design and the scrolling activity, however I think more could have been done to indicate the temporal relationship between the different columns and to indicate (for example by colour) which candidate/moderator spoke at what time. Mousing over the candidate names does a little of this, but more could have been achieved.

Will offers the additional perspective that the number of words for each candidate correlates with their ranking in terms of the Zogby poll.
