I'm a little late getting to this, but I just noticed Technorati's new home page: a live scroll of blog posts bucketed by broad topic (e.g. politics). I like it. I've not yet dug down to see how well they are doing this (e.g. how real time is it? how accurate is the topic classification?), but certainly an interesting step.

This kicks ass. One nice touch is that the scroll stops when you hover your mouse over a post, and it doesn't resume immediately when you move the mouse. This takes some attention to detail.
