The Wired's compiler blog gets excited about the ability to overlay NASA's night lights imagery over Google Earth. For me this is not that interesting: the images don't have a high resolution and they aren't particularly new. However, what I do like is the ability to take individual images from the 'Astronaut Photography' layer and lay them on the earths terrain. Unfortunately, you can't do this with all of their images, and it is rather hit and miss to discover which ones it works with.
