Community Buzz

Aaron Hoff and Blaz Fortuna demoed Community Buzz at TechFest yesterday. Community Buzz is a project which has grown out of Marc Smith's work on analysing the structure of Usenet communities and conversation threads. Community Buzz adds a content analysis layer to this project and provides keyword analysis (in the form of a term cloud representing words that are active in a certain timeframe) as well as trending of those keywords.

I wonder which of the major search engines (Google, Y!, Live, or Ask) will be the first to introduce the buzz/trends features into the core search experience. For some sub-set of queries it could be very helpful.

Hi, thanks for posting this. I really enjoy reading about this kind of stuff. Cheers
