Farecast: RSS Airfares
Farecast is engaging bloggers with a new feature called Fare Guard which allows you to push-pin fares to keep the price for a week. However, in looking around the Farecast labs site, I noticed that they also have an RSS delivery for fixed searches. I've registered a search for flights from Pittsburgh to a couple of destinations. The fares now show up in my feed reader. The site states that the feed will be updated regularly - I'm hoping this means that it will update when the fare changes.
The item in the feed seems to hold the right information - destination, price, dates and, importantly, whether Farecast thinks the price is going up or down.
Incidentally, the Fare Guard feature is deployed in a most confusing way. The link provided asks you to register. I did but it correctly informed that the account already existed. So I logged in and then it told me - to see Fare Guard I need to register. Huh? I have registered and I'm logged in - I need another account to use this new feature?
